Understanding the Project & Study Structure

The MobLab Research console uses a simple two-level hierarchy to help you organize your work:

Projects

Think of Projects as high-level folders used to group related research. For example, you might create a project for "Thesis Research" or "Consumer Behavior Studies."

📁 Project Examples

  • "Dissertation Research"
  • "Marketing Study Series"
  • "Behavioral Economics Lab"
  • "Q1 2025 Studies"

Studies

Studies are the individual research activities that live inside a project. Each study has its own unique configuration, participant pool, and data.

🔬 Study Examples

  • "Consumer Choice Experiment #1"
  • "Brand Perception Survey"
  • "Decision Making Task"
  • "Follow-up Questionnaire"

Hierarchy Visualization

📊 Structure Example

Project: "Consumer Behavior Research"
    ├── Study: "Brand Preference Survey"
    ├── Study: "Price Sensitivity Experiment"
    └── Study: "Purchase Decision Task"

Managing Projects and Studies

  • When you log in, you will be directed to your most recently used project page.
  • You can create multiple projects to organize different research areas.
  • Each project can contain multiple studies related to that research area.

Deletion Rules

⚠️ Important Restrictions

  • You can only delete a study if it has not been launched.
  • You can only delete a project if it is empty (contains no studies).

💡 Organization Tip

Plan your project structure before creating studies. A well-organized project hierarchy makes it easier to find and manage your research over time.
