Understanding Submission Statuses

Every submission progresses through a series of statuses. Understanding these is key to managing your data.

Submission Status Types

Completed

The participant has successfully submitted their completion code. The submission is now waiting for you to take action. Submissions with matched completion codes will be assigned the base amount by default, while those with unmatched completion codes will be assigned zero.

Timed Out

The participant started the study but did not submit a completion code before their session duration expired. These submissions have a base pay of $0.

Returned

The participant chose to voluntarily exit the study before completion. These also have a base pay of $0.

Approved

You have approved the submission. The participant's payment is now scheduled.

Rejected

You have rejected the submission. The participant will not be paid.

No Show

The participant did not join the live study within 10 minutes after the study start time.

💡 Status Flow

Submissions typically flow: Completed/Timed Out/Returned → Approved/Rejected. Understanding this progression helps you manage your review workflow efficiently.

⚠️ Important

Only submissions with a base pay greater than $0 can be directly approved. For $0 submissions that deserve payment, use the bonus feature first.

Status-Based Actions

  • Completed submissions: Can be approved (if matched completion code) or rejected
  • Timed Out/Returned submissions: Can be rejected or awarded a bonus if they deserve payment
  • No Show submissions: Typically rejected automatically
  • Approved/Rejected submissions: Final states, though rejections can be reversed
