How Funds are Reserved and Returned

To ensure you always have enough money to pay for completed work, we use a fund reservation system.

When are Funds Reserved?

Funds are automatically moved from your main wallet and "reserved" for a specific study at two key moments:

  1. When you launch the study.
  2. When you award or update a bonus for a submission.

When are Funds Returned?

If a study concludes with leftover reserved funds (e.g., you stopped it early or not all spots were filled), these funds will be automatically returned to your main wallet balance. This happens when the study's status officially transitions to REVIEWED.

Important Note

A study is considered REVIEWED when it is finished collecting data AND all pending submissions have been either manually reviewed by you or automatically approved/rejected by the system's 21-day rule.
